However, some states have taken the bold step to legalize it for patients and some states are already in the process of legalizing it. Nevertheless, you need to know that before it can be given to you in a dispensary, you will need to satisfy some requirements. The first requirement is that you need to be actually diagnosed with a painful or chronic disease by a certified doctor. In addition, the doctor will need to provide paperwork to support the diagnosis and you will need to fill out some paperwork with the appropriate agency.

Once you have completed the necessary paperwork, you will be given a card that is just like an identity card that will show law enforcement official that you are permitted to have medical marijuana. In addition, you will need to present the card at the dispensary before they can actually sell the plants or medical marijuana to you. On the other hand, you may choose to grow the plants yourself.

However, you should know that you are only allowed have a small quantity of the medical marijuana in your possession at any point in time. In fact, you are only allowed to keep a given number plants if you are growing them yourself. The reason for this is to ensure that use the medical marijuana for a medical condition only. This will keep the substance from falling into the hands of people that could abuse it.
